The 4-season cottage is complete with a wraparound deck, brick fireplace in the living area, open kitchen and dining area, sauna, and an upstairs sleeping room. Upstairs you could leave open or make into two separate bedrooms. There is also a matching 12x16 shed/garage (insulated, and with cement floor) to help with any storage needs. Back outside, the beach and river creates for a world of imagination and playtime to search the river for agates, tadpoles, and trout. Wildlife is nearby with a deer & fawn occasionally seen in the woods, a bald eagle soaring overhead, or the call of a loon over the water. The beach is picturesque with sand and a few mixed pebbles. Long walks or runs to the southwest along the beach to Misery River are a regular occurrence. The adventurous can wade across Misery River and continue on past Black River to Wolf Point and beyond to Sleeping Bay to appreciate more of Lake Superiors beauty. To the NE is Agate Beach and agate beach park, and on to Rockhouse Point. Local forest roads can provide opportunities for mountain biking & Off-Road Vehicle adventures in the summer, and snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter. Located just over 25 miles from Houghton, this cottage is the perfect distance to allow for short notice stays, but ensure that quick trips into town for errands aren't pulling you away during your stay.
